The Dobieville Farms Story

Dobieville Farms Doberman & Restricted Breed Rescue, has been the dream of Wayne Fey, President of Dobieville Farms Inc. for many years. As a Doberman owner since the late 1980’s, Mr. Fey has always loved the breed. The 55 acre previous equine facility was purchased in August 2022 in Glasgow / Natural Bridge Virginia, seven miles from Lexington, VA. The property is rolling and open with several wooded areas and a 6700 SF metal building, recently converted to a kennel facility. Improvements to date include 5500 sf of 5′ chain-link fence behind the building that is divided into two canine play areas. 1700 sf of Kennel, Office Space, and Workshop / Laundry space has been completed. The balance of the barn floor has had gravel installed and livestock gates at each end so that the dogs can roam freely inside during inclement weather. There are 8 completed indoor / outdoor Kennels, with the indoor portions climate controlled. Each kennel has an access door so that the dogs can roam at will between the inside and outside kennel areas. All kennel stalls also have automatic watering bowls for the guests. The inside portions of the kennels have privacy walls so the dogs can have “Quiet Time” if desired. Additional kennels will be added as needed. The kennel has been designated “The Whinery” which does not require explanation to any Doberman owner. While the main focus is on the Doberman breed, Dobieville Farms will also provide Rescue and Rehoming to all Restricted Breeds. Dobieville Farms will eventually have a memorial garden named the Rainbow Bridge where pet owners will be able to memorialize their pets and place their ashes as a final memorial to their best friends that have passed to the Rainbow Bridge. The property at Dobieville Farms is the ideal place to contemplate past canine relationships with solitude and 360-degree mountain views. Dobieville Farms intends to partner with other animal rescue facilities and is actively seeking volunteers, supporters and any and all other support to complete building and running the facility. The facility is 95% complete as of November 15th, 2024 and ready to begin Rescue & Rehoming of canines. DobieVille Farms Inc. will be placed in a Trust and donated in its entirety to be operated in perpetuity by others  when Mr. Fey is no longer able to do so. Website Under Construction, more to come..
